History

The Edwin Wolters Memorial Museum occupies the 1915 family home of Edwin Wolters, a Shiner businessman who began collecting as a boy. After his death in 1962, his daughter donated the home and its contents to the city in 1963 to become a museum. Its eclectic displays include an antique gun collection, an old-time country store, dinosaur bones, doll and needlework collections, and a wide range of area-history artifacts.
