History

Sanders Walker was a soldier of the Texas Revolution who served in the army from March to June 1836 and was awarded a bounty certificate for 320 acres in 1838 for that service. He later settled in Limestone County, and his marked grave stands near the site of Old Springfield, an early county seat, close to Mexia.
