History
The First State Bank in Three Rivers was organized and built in 1914, becoming the first substantial brick building in the new Live Oak County town. Its first president was 21-year-old Charles R. Tips, and its early stockholders included Congressman John Nance Garner, later Speaker of the U.S. House and vice president. The building was recorded as a Texas Historic Landmark in 1964.
