History
The Judge William Shields Holman House at 2504 Avenue K in Bay City was built in 1909 by local architect-builder J. E. Large for William S. Holman, a Bay City lawyer and Matagorda County judge. The two-story, L-plan Queen Anne house features a chamfered front bay, a slender octagonal corner turret, bands of fish-scale shingles, and a pyramidal roof. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.
