History

West Brethren Cemetery is a rural burial ground near West in northern McLennan County, tied to the Czech immigrants who began settling the area around 1875. After the community's Brethren mutual aid society organized in 1905, Anna Urbanovsky donated a tract for the cemetery in 1908; it was also historically known as the C.M.B. Cemetery and shares a fence line with the neighboring Bold Springs Cemetery.
