History

The Pruett Family Cemetery is a small family burial ground near Davilla in western Milam County, a community established in the 1860s and named for Miguel Davila, who had obtained the original Mexican land concession in 1833. Davilla had a post office by 1871 and several hundred residents in the 1880s before railroads bypassed the town.
