History
The S. Julius Lichtenstein House in Corpus Christi was built in 1905 by Julius and Carrie Lichtenstein; Julius belonged to the family behind M. Lichtenstein and Sons, a leading local dry-goods business. The Colonial Revival house is distinguished by a large elliptical porch with widely spaced Tuscan columns and a curved dentiled cornice. Moved to Heritage Park, it now houses the Instituto de Cultura Hispanica (Museum of Hispanic Culture). It became a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1976 and was listed on the National Register in 1983.
