History
This Corpus Christi residence at 611 South Upper Broadway is associated with Captain Richard King, the steamboat pilot and rancher who founded the vast King Ranch in South Texas in 1853. King and his family maintained ties to Corpus Christi, the nearest coastal city to the ranch. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
