History
The Heritage House Museum in Orange is the 1902 home of banker Jimmy Ochiltree Sims, whose family came to the area during its lumber boom. After remaining in the family until 1977, the two-story native-pine house was relocated and restored by the Heritage House Association and now stands at 905 Division Street, interpreted to its 1919 appearance. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark, it preserves early-twentieth-century architecture and Orange County history.
