History

Woods Cemetery lies behind Woods Methodist Church in the dispersed Woods community of southern Panola County, about ten miles south of Carthage. The frame church is a surviving example of 19th-century East Texas vernacular architecture, once common but now rare, and the cemetery has served the surrounding community as its Methodist burial ground.
