History
The Reeves-Millican Cemetery, also recorded as Reeves-McMillan, sits in the Logan community of southeastern Panola County and traces to the McMillan family, whose patriarch William McMillan, Sr. (born in South Carolina in 1788) settled in Texas in the late 1830s and secured a Republic of Texas land patent in 1846. For many years the interred families tended the grounds themselves; in the early 1950s a cemetery association formed to maintain it. A Reeves-family descendant donated additional acreage in 1976 on the condition that the burial ground carry the Reeves name, and the cemetery today holds more than 234 marked and roughly 80 unmarked graves.
