History
The Doss Heritage and Culture Center opened in 2006 in Weatherford, the product of years of work by the community volunteer group Civic Development, Inc.; previously Parker County's history had been housed in a single room of the Weatherford Public Library. The 23,000-square-foot museum at 1400 Texas Drive collects and interprets the county's western heritage. Permanent exhibits cover early Texas settlement, cattle drives, Native American life, and hometown stars Mary Martin and Larry Hagman.
