History

Lazbuddie Cemetery grew out of the small Parmer County farming community founded when D. Luther 'Laz' Green and Andrew 'Buddie' Sherley opened the Lazbuddie commissary in 1924. A Methodist church and community cemetery were established there in 1928, a few years after the town gained a post office, Baptist church, and new schoolhouse. The cemetery remains in use in the largely agricultural community on the Texas High Plains.
