History

This cemetery, recorded as Williams Cemetery and also known as English or Williams Chapel Cemetery, dates to the 1850s in Red River County. On October 10, 1859, the Savannah Methodist Episcopal Church acquired 2.84 acres of the Asa Dean survey from Andrew J. Williams for the burial ground. The cemetery holds roughly 256 recorded graves.
