History
The First Methodist Church of Rockwall, at 303 E. Rusk Street, was built in 1913 for a Methodist congregation organized in 1856. Greenville architect George Lindsey designed the Mission Revival brick building—with twin corner towers, curved parapets, and round-arched openings—for over $15,000, and its interior followed the Akron Plan for Sunday school. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.
