History
The Rockwall County Historical Foundation was organized on January 16, 1978, to collect and preserve the county's history, and it operates a museum in the Manson-LaMoreaux-Hartman House, an 1850 dog-trot home in Harry Myers Park near downtown Rockwall. The foundation maintains three historic buildings on the grounds, including the main house, the Bailey House, and a 1920s tenant farmer's cabin. Exhibits cover county pioneers, local business history, and the mysterious underground 'rock wall' formation that gave the county its name.
