(HbTx: 1895 settler and developer John H. Kirby came to the area and bought large tracts of land, most of which was covered with virgin pine timber. Bronson, named for Samuel Bronson Cooper, was laid out on 200 acres on the course of the Gulf, Beaumont and Great Northern Railway, which was being built through the county in the spring of 1902. Small pavilion with picnic table near gate. Great diversity of formal markers over time, curbing, gravel, slabs, obelisks. Also petrified wood. Decorative iron fencing of some individual and family plots. Photo enamels. Some unique and creative markers, some use of personal items. Marker trees of Cedar and Mimosa, Black Jack Oak, Maples. Marker shrubs of Rose and Spirea, Gardenia, Crape Myrtle, some Irises. Abundant floral and decorative grave materials, some embellishment of stone. Approx 3.5 acres.
