History

Hermleigh Cemetery lies just east of the school in the Scurry County town of Hermleigh, which was surveyed in 1907 on land donated by R. C. Herm and Harry W. Harlin. The nearby community of Wheat relocated to the new townsite when the Roscoe, Snyder and Pacific Railway built through in 1907-08, and the cemetery has served the farming and ranching families of the area since the town's founding.
