History
The Fort Griffin Brazos River Bridge, a pin-connected Pratt through truss, was built in 1885 by the King Bridge Company of Cleveland, Ohio to carry traffic across the Clear Fork of the Brazos River between the county seats of Albany and Throckmorton. It is one of the oldest surviving metal truss bridges in Texas and the last pin-connected Pratt through truss in Shackelford County. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
