The Sherman County Courthouse in Stratford was built in 1922-1923 after fire destroyed the county's frame courthouse in April 1922. The Amarillo firm of Parker and Rittenberry designed the two-story concrete building with a raised basement in the Classical Revival style, marked by symmetrical facades and Ionic columns. Voters approved $62,500 in bonds for its construction, carried out by contractor J. W. Mordecai.
