History

Stockton P. Donley was one of 19th-century Tyler's most prominent citizens, a Confederate veteran who rose to serve as a justice of the Texas Supreme Court. He is buried in Tyler's historic Oakwood Cemetery, where he is remembered among the city's notable early figures.
