History
Our Mother of Mercy School was built in 1931 at the corner of Verbena Street and Missouri Avenue in Fort Worth, serving the parish that was the city's first and oldest Black Catholic congregation. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and the city later acquired the school structure for use with the Ella Mae Shamblee Library.
