History
Tabernacle Baptist Church at 1801 Evans Avenue in Fort Worth grew from a mission of Broadway Baptist Church established in 1904 and formally organized with 30 charter members. The current Classical Revival building, with a U-shaped plan and a portico of pilasters, was completed in phases between 1923 and 1927. Later known as Evans Avenue Baptist Church, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 30, 1999.
