History

The Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame honors more than 150 Texas men and women who have excelled in rodeo and the western lifestyle. It was established in Hico, Texas in 1997 by Bobby and Susan Kerr and moved in 2001 to the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. The museum occupies Historic Barn A, one of the stockyards' horse and mule barns first built in 1888 and rebuilt as "fireproof" after a 1911 fire, and displays the Sterquell Wagon Collection and the John Justin Trail of Fame.
