History
This museum in the Fort Worth Stockyards opened in December 2020 at 2501 Rodeo Plaza, created by John Wayne Enterprises and the actor's family after they were invited to Cowtown by Stockyards developers earlier that year. The exhibit grew out of the estate's 2019 Las Vegas exhibition "John Wayne: Spirit of the West" and traces the Duke's life and career through themed galleries of film props, costumes, and personal memorabilia. A 2024 expansion increased the space to nearly 14,000 square feet, adding room for rotating exhibitions and events.
