History

This car barn served the Abilene Street Railway Company, which operated the city's streetcar system beginning in 1908 and continued as the Abilene Traction Company after 1919 until the lines were abandoned in 1931. The surviving barn is recognized among the Historic and Architectural Resources of Abilene on the National Register.
