History
Built in 1916 at 1742 North 2nd Street, this two-story frame bungalow in the American Craftsman style was the home of David S. Castle (1884-1956), the most prominent Abilene architect of the early twentieth century. Castle's firm designed many West Texas landmarks, yet he lived in this comparatively modest house throughout his career until his death. The residence was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.
