History
This house was the Abilene home of Thomas Lindsay Blanton (1872-1957), a Texas jurist who served in the U.S. House of Representatives, representing a West Texas district from 1917 to 1929 and again from 1930 to 1937. Known for his combative style on the House floor, Blanton practiced law and served as a district judge in Abilene. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992 as part of the Historic and Architectural Resources of Abilene.
