History

Millican Chapel Cemetery sits on private land about 1.6 miles south of Trinity in Trinity County and grew up around Millican's Chapel, a Methodist meeting place built on nearby Bell's Creek in the 1850s and considered the first church in the area. It takes its name from pioneer settler H. C. Millican, an early Methodist preacher; its first recorded burial dates to 1876, and the grounds are made up of adjoining Brock, Turner, Stanford, and Leggett family plots.
