History

The Mount Pleasant Masonic Cemetery was started in 1888 when Thomps Morris gave five acres to the local Masonic Lodge for use as a burial ground. It was later enlarged through additions by Judge I. N. Williams and a Mr. Moore. The cemetery continues to serve Mount Pleasant as a Masonic burial ground.
