History

This is the McCrary Cemetery — also called the Dorsey or West New Hope Cemetery — atop a hill just north of Dorsey Branch in far northwestern Titus County, once near the West New Hope Methodist Church that has since been moved. It is distinctive for graves marked with hewn bridge timbers and native stones; only a few burials carry lettered monuments, and the long-abandoned ground has become overgrown.
