History
The Frederick Beck Farm at 1231 Culberson Street in San Angelo was established by German immigrant Frederick Beck (1864-1951), who arrived in 1886, bought the homesite in 1889, and opened a butcher shop in 1892. After an earlier house on the property burned, Beck hired architect Oscar Ruffini to design the present residence in 1912. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988 as part of the San Angelo Multiple Resource Area.
