History

Berryman Cemetery lies in the Oak Hill area of southwestern Travis County, a community that grew up along Williamson Creek about eight miles southwest of Austin. It bears the name of the pioneer Berryman family, of whom Swen M. Berryman served as Oak Hill's first postmaster when the post office opened in 1870. The small burial ground reflects the family's early presence in the settlement.
