History

A Baptist congregation formed in A. F. Schnaubert's Rankin home in 1914, the same year the community built a shared church that also served as a school. The Rev. Carson Taylor became the church's first full-time pastor in 1927, and about 1930 the congregation acquired a former hardware store, later moving it to this site before erecting a new sanctuary in the early 1950s. The Texas Historical Commission marked the church in 2004.
