History
Built about 1891 in Huntsville, the John W. Thomason House combines Queen Anne and Shingle-style architecture and was the childhood home of writer, illustrator, and U.S. Marine Corps officer John W. Thomason Jr. (1893-1944). Thomason drew on his World War I service at Belleau Wood and Chateau-Thierry for his many books and magazine articles. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
