History

El Campo Community Cemetery is the principal public burial ground of El Campo in southeastern Wharton County, located on Jesse Street on the south side of town. The grounds contain more than 1,100 recorded burials and are adjoined by the smaller, historically Mexican-American Payne Cemetery.
