History
Built about 1848 by John Harris from limestone quarried on the hill where it stood, this building served as a stagecoach inn on the routes linking San Antonio, Salado and points beyond. Travelers and mail arrived by stage in the 1850s, and townspeople reportedly gathered to watch the coaches come in. Listed on the National Register in 1970, the structure was later relocated and rehabilitated, reopening in 2024 as an event space at Chisholm Trail Crossing Park in Round Rock.
