History

Jenkins Cemetery once stood on the North Fork of the San Gabriel River northwest of Georgetown. When Lake Georgetown was created in the late 1970s, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers exhumed the graves and moved the remains and headstones to the Presbyterian Cemetery in Georgetown, where they were grouped in the northeast corner between 20th and 21st streets. The original site now lies beneath the reservoir.
