Floresville's downtown square is peanut-country Wilson County doing small-town Texas right: an 1884 Italianate courthouse designed by noted architect Alfred Giles, two churches that started out meeting inside that very courthouse, and a saloon-turned-café that's fed the town for well over a century. This half-mile walk also visits Captain Will Wright, a Texas Ranger sheriff who raised his family in the county jail's living quarters, and the marker explaining just who Wilson County was named for. It's a compact, walkable slice of county-seat Texas, all within a few blocks of the square.
