History

This cemetery outside Scotland is the burial ground of St. Boniface Catholic Church, which anchored the German Catholic farming community of Scotland in eastern Archer County. The town was founded about 1907 by Henry J. Scott of Toronto, whose agent recruited newly arrived German immigrants as settlers, and St. Boniface Church was in place by 1915. The cemetery holds several hundred graves of the parish's families.
