History
The Belton Farmers Co-op Gin was built in 1927 along Nolan Creek by an association of local cotton farmers, replacing an earlier gin destroyed by fire. Unusual among regional gins for its load-bearing brick construction, the two-story building has a sheet-metal hipped roof and a central cupola; it ceased ginning around 1956 and was later converted into a restaurant complex. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
