History
Built in 1884, the Bell County Courthouse in Belton is the third courthouse to serve the county. It was designed in the Renaissance Revival style by J. N. Preston & Son and built by Ben D. Lee. The three-story building originally featured a central 125-foot tower topped by a statue of the Goddess of Justice, since removed. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976 and partially restored in 1999.
