History

The columbarium serves Christ Episcopal Church of Temple, a Bell County parish founded as a mission in 1889 that attained parish status in 1902. Its Gothic Revival church, designed by Austin architect A. O. Watson, held its first service in 1905 and was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1976. The columbarium provides a place of interment on the historic church grounds.
