History
The First National Bank of San Antonio traces to an 1866 charter as the state's first nationally chartered bank, and its building was completed in 1886 as the institution's fourth home. New York architect Cyrus L. W. Eidlitz designed it in a Victorian style with Moorish arches, ornate ironwork and a corner tower with a minaret, built of local limestone; the bank occupied it until 1970.
