History

Prospect Hill Missionary Baptist Church is a historic Baptist church at 1601 Buena Vista Street in San Antonio, built in 1911 by local contractor Arthur A. Evins. Its Beaux Arts design, with a brick facade, arched stained-glass windows, and a corner bell tower, is regarded as an unusually elegant example of the style in San Antonio. An important part of the city's African-American religious history, the church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
