History
Pioneer Flour Mills founder Carl Hilmar Guenther built this raised stone cottage about 1859-60 beside his new flour mill on the San Antonio River, one of the first houses in what became the King William Historic District. Still family-owned, it was restored and opened to the public as a restaurant and museum in the late 1980s and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 11, 1990.
