History
Established at Lackland Air Force Base on November 5, 1979 and later renamed the USAF Security Forces Museum, it is the only U.S. Air Force career-field-specific museum in the world. Its exhibits and archives document the history of the military, air, security police and security forces since 1947, including displays on women in the field and military working dogs. In 2014 it was joined with the Airman Heritage Museum under the Airman Heritage Training Complex.
