History
The Cos House in La Villita is traditionally identified as the place where Mexican Gen. Martin Perfecto de Cos signed the articles of capitulation on December 10, 1835, surrendering San Antonio to Texan forces after the Siege of Bexar. The small stucco-and-caliche structure predates the surrender and is considered among the oldest buildings in La Villita. It was restored in 1941 by the National Youth Administration as part of the neighborhood's revival.
