History
The Texarkana Museums System operates several history and cultural sites in the twin cities, most notably the Ace of Clubs House, an 1885 Italianate Victorian residence also known as the Draughon-Moore House. The house is famously laid out in the shape of a playing-card club, with three octagonal wings and a rectangular fourth wing meeting at a central stair hall, and local legend holds that builder James Draughon financed it with poker winnings. The Moore family donated the house to the museum system in 1985, and it has operated as a house museum since 1987.
