History
The Old Brazoria County Courthouse in Angleton was built in 1897, a year after Angleton became county seat, using plans originally drawn for the Matagorda County courthouse; it was enlarged and remodeled in 1927. After storm damage in 1932 the county built a new courthouse but kept offices here into the 1970s. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and made a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1983, the building now houses the Brazoria County Museum.
